Meet the Bowdens:
The Chaos Coordinators
Tali Bowden – Director of Spark & Resident "Do-It-All" Specialist
Tali is the visionary behind Spark and the primary wrangler of the Bowden homestead. With a degree in the Arts (photography and interior design), she has an eye for beauty and a hand in everything, literally. Whether she’s spent the last 8+ years homeschooling her own crew, teaching in a classroom, or diving into a DIY project, she doesn't do "boring." If she’s not teaching, you’ll likely find her in the garden talking to her plants or hanging out with her 13 ducks. She’s passionate about nature, creativity, and making sure homeschooling feels less like a chore and more like an adventure.
Mr. Wes – Lead Instructor & Certified Survivalist (Seriously)
Mr. Wes brings a resume that reads like an action movie: he’s a Survival Expert for the U.S. Air Force and has run his own SERE school for 17 years. He holds a Master’s in Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Homeland Security, but don't let the "expert" title fool you…he is a giant nerd at heart. From complex board games to tech-talk, Wes is all about the "nerdy" side of life. He’s just as comfortable teaching kids how to survive in the woods as he is losing a family game night to his kids.
Our Life & Mission
Our home is currently a zoo, and we like it that way! We share our space with 3 kids, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a flock of 13 ducks. Our kids come with a "rainbow" of learning disabilities and ADHD, which means we’ve seen it all, tried it all, and probably found a way to turn it into a game.
We know firsthand that the traditional "mold" doesn't fit everyone. We love what homeschooling has done for our family, and we’re building Spark to be the kind of community where kids can be their unique, "outside-the-box" selves, and where parents can find a little sanity and friendships in the process.
